Due to the GDP growth of 5.9% for 2Q 2024 and the strengthening Malaysian Ringgit, Budget 2025 had room to address social and economic improvements across a broad front. Record budgets were allocated to the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health which reflects a longer-term strategy.
The government committed to maintain the RON95 petrol subsidy in 2025 which will still benefit 85% of the populace, while holding back inflation and rising costs.
